Jo-Ann Lewis – Woodford Green IG8

Jo-Ann Lewis did her initial training at the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy and then went on to train at the British Psychotherapy Foundation. She is BPC registered.

Her background was in the charity sector before moving on to work in private practice as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. She also has experience in providing individual supervision and running reflective practice groups in organisations.

She specialises in providing intensive psychoanalytic psychotherapy, which can be 3 or 4 times per week, and this is her preferred way of working, but also offers less intensive weekly sessions of 1 or 2 x weekly when she has availability.

She is based in Woodford Green and is well connected to most of East London and parts of Essex. Stratford Station is 15mins away by train and you can get to her using the Central Line embarking either at Woodford or South Woodford stations (approximately 15 – 20min walk); the W14 and the 275 bus routes stop close by and she is near to the north circular by car.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy provides a safe space to think about troubling emotional problems with a therapist who will not judge but listens to what you are saying, and perhaps what you are not saying, to understand the causes of present distress.

It is not a quick fix but, at best, offers the possibility of long term changes in the way you view yourself and the world around you.
